Mary Wiltenburg is an award-winning reporter and teacher, whose print, radio, and multimedia stories profile people and communities, especially children. She has contributed to The Christian Science Monitor, This American Life, Esquire, The Boston Globe Magazine, Marketplace, Nightline, Der Spiegel, and many other outlets, from four continents. She has also worked as an editor and radio producer.
Over the years, she has taught journalism to middle schoolers through college students, from the Missouri Scholars Academy to VOX ATL, The Park School of Baltimore to the Johns Hopkins University graduate program in science writing. These days, she teaches journalism, podcasting, and literature at Friends School of Baltimore and the University of Maryland – Baltimore County. She lives with her children in Baltimore.
